France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)1, a leading global player in the field of scientific research, has selected CGI as a strategic partner to support the modernization of its information system. This contract is planned for a period of eight years.

The technical and functional modernization of its information system, and in particular, the move to the cloud in a SecNumCloud2 environment, constituted a strategic challenge for the CNRS. This modernization is essential to enable the institute to meet the challenges of tomorrow, guarantee its sovereignty, ensure its international influence and thus, remain a world leader in research.

“We are proud to support the CNRS in its digital transformation for more than 15 years. This new project demonstrates our in-depth knowledge of the strategic challenges of the CNRS, the operational excellence of our teams as well as our know-how in terms of portability to the cloud. Our teams are fully committed with enthusiasm, determination and professionalism to the success of this project alongside our client,” says Jean-Bernard Rodriguez, Vice-President of the Greater South region at CGI in France

In this context, the institute selected CGI as a major technological partner, to support it in the management, operation and security as well as the technological porting to the cloud of two SAP applications, one dedicated to the financial activities (BFC - Budget, Finance and Compatibility) and the other to the HR and administrative aspect (SIRHUS - administrative management, HR and payroll).

Under this contract, CGI will offer end-to-end managed services covering infrastructure and applications. These services will be delivered from Toulouse and from the company's service delivery centers located in France. The company will also put in place unified governance to guarantee a high level of performance and compliance with deadlines.

CGI teams will ensure the porting of applications to OVHcloud infrastructures, while guaranteeing total continuity of services for business users as well as the CNRS Information Systems Department (DSI).
